Foot steps in the right direction.

I wrote this last night but it didnt post. So we will try again.

After struggling on monday, ate carbs all day with my sick 3yr.  When I finally arrived at work i was called into a stressful meeting..with a heaping bowl of candy.  Before i knew it..3 snack size candy bar wrappers were in front of me. Ugh.

Today, tuesday, i did it.  The only unplanned carbs were 2 pretzel rods.  No candy

, no peanut butter, no cookies no chocolate. I busted my ass at bootcamp and walked at lunch. I know i need to drink more water and less coffee...but finally i feel good! Like i am gaining control again.

Lost in space

I have no idea how i became so lost in space..  I am rereading my blog for 2011 when i did so well. I am hoping that motivation will find me again and inspire me.  I dont know what derailed me and why i continue to be derailed.

in 2011 when i lost 10 pounds and 7 inches in a month i was walking on my breaks and lunch for a total of 4 miles, plus taking bootcamp 4 days a week and running 3-5miles 3 days a week.  Now i am walking for 30 minutes at lunch, taking bootcamp 4 times a week.

Its my eatting.  I need to just go to bed at like 9am.   I am binging after 9.

I need to get this undercontrol and i need to get down the 30 pounds i lost.  I gave away all my clothes at this size for summer.  So short of buying new clothes i am screwed when it warms up.

Damn cookies and chocolate..why do they have so much power over me

Getting out of the comfort zone

I have no idea how i slipped into the comfort zone but I did. I spent all of 2012 in the 190s, a far cry from my 2011 low of 177.  I avoid the scale in December of 2012 but faced it Jan 2.....WHAT 208.  ARE YOU SERIOUS.   Time to remove my head from my ass and get in gear.  Bootcamp, running, walking at lunch, good nutrition.

I need to find a better balance...i am not getting enough sleep with my schedule, the husband plowing all night, Gymnastics for the 3 year old, boy scouts and indoor soccer for the 7 year old.

Time to get recommitted....

15K and Away

One month from today, I run my first 15K.  Its one of the largest in the country, it caps at 14,000 runners.

I have been training hard.  Sundays are my long runs.  Then during the week I attend bootcamp unless Tyler has tee ball.  On those nights I jog home which is 3.25miles.  I have also been walking 2 miles at lunch each day.  I give myself one day a week of rest.

This past Sunday I ran my first 8.1 miles in 91 minutes.  Plan is to just keep focusing on that 8.1 mile run.  The crowds of people and excitement of the event will get me thru the last 1.2 (or so I hope!)

Tomorrow morning I am doing a 5K about 30 minutes from my house.  I want to see how well I can push myself on a short run.  I want to get my time under 30 minutes.

In other news I dropped 3.4 pounds this week!!  But I had a major cheat meal tonight (yeah the night before I run a 5K) hopefully it doesn’t undo this weeks success.

to my running friends–please help

Lately while running my left foot has began hurting about 4-3 miles into my run.  it feels like it’s a sleep you know that numb but hurts feeling.  Today it again did it but at the 3mile mark.  I stopped and completely loosened my shoes.  It did make it feel better but it didn’t go away.

So do I

1) try another run with my basically untied sneakers

2) buy another pair that are wider/or bigger (of course I would go to Fleet feet before buying a pair

3) try inserts??

Any tips or suggestions???

Who's that girl?

I am sorry that I have been gone for about a half a year.  I have no good justification other than being so tired at night that I have not been blogging at all.

I can tell you that on December 1st I was 177  - the last time I weigh myself (4 weeks ago) I was 189.  I can tell that my clothes from last summer are not fitting that comfortably.  I need to get my act together and get this weight off.  It was all gained in December and has not come off since – I did get down to 182 in March.

I am still busting my ass at bootcamp – during the winter I went 4-5 days a week. but its my food relationship that sucks.  Candy, candy and bad portions as the major issues.   I was named Bootcamper of the year!! I am pretty excited about that!

On super bowl Sunday we did the Next Level 1000: 100 push ups, 200 Squat jumps, 300 Kettlebell Swings (I forgot what weight I did for a swing) and 400 burpees. Heres my after photo and time:

I am really looking forward to improving my time the next time we do it.  I also ran a 5mile race for the heart run and walk.  I am in the process of training for the 15K boilermaker – the biggest road race in our area.  Tons of media and events leading up to the race.  Sunday I ran 7.25 miles in 1:24 minutes.

I am refocused – and hopefully out of my funk.  I am recommitting myself to my blog – hoping the accountability will keep my head out of my backside.

This photo was taking a few weeks ago around Easter.  It was right after I shook my favorite hockey players hand (twice!)

Still Here…and holding strong

I can not believe its been 2 months since I last posted. I am so sorry.  I feel very bad.  I really have no excuse other than I am going 37 different directions and my blogs were what I had to give up.

Here is a quick recap of the last 2 months:

  • Ran the 10 that I blogged about.
  • Had a beautiful weekend in the Adirondacks Columbus weekend.
  • October 16th we lost our 10 year old lab you can read about him here
  • The snow storm that hit NYC and the hudson valley Halloween weekend caused my husbands crew to be sent down there to help for a week.  Single momville
  • Got a new puppy named dunkin
  • when on a 3 night cruise to the bahamas with no kids
  • Turned 32
  • a day later my son turned 6
  • two days later I cooked Thanksgiving for 15 then left at 7pm to shop all night!
  • First of many xmas parties were last weekend

So that is the cliff note versions!  During all that I had been having some medical issues – girly in nature.  Massive mood swings, very tired, short periods.  I should also mention my weight has not changed since mid august.  Still holding strong around 178/177.  I saw a doctor about my “problems” and she thinks a) my body just realized that I have dropped 96 pounds, b) that this is really normal but being overweight all these years I accept abnormal as normal c) After 96 pounds lost they think I may have a thyroid issue…I was retested this morning.  I hope to have more news on that later this week.

After returning from the cruise (and spending 12 hours in the Orlando airport) I have been suffering from a back injury that has limited what I can do at bootcamp.  The doctor said its probably your bodies weigh of saying hey you just spent 18 months doing crazy things and dropping 96 pounds now I (my back) needs to get adjusted to carrying this new weight with my new posture.

I finally felt good enough about myself to take a cruise or tropical vacation.  When we got married I had gain about 85 pounds in 4 years.  I did not want to look at 235 pound honeymoon photos in a bathing suit so instead we when to the mountains where I am in jeans and  a sweatshirt in every photo!  On the cruise I walked around in my bathing suit, wore strapless shirts and a sleeveless dress!

You have to love the ocean
